Today is Friday!  We just took our spelling test and we hope that we all made a 100!!  Today we also go to the library and we get to buy stuff at the school store!

We had a fire drill this morning too!  We are ready to have fun today and work really hard so that our brains get even smarter!!!!

Thursday, September 27th

yesterday we went to the Yeargen Art Museum. We had a wonderful time!  We made art, watched two movies, and looked at instruments and art.

Sugar Cube Experiment

Yesterday we performed an experiment on changing states of matter.  We used sugar cubes, sandpaper, plates, goggles, and our science journals.  We used the sandpaper to change the sugar cube from a cube to a sphere.  Here are the pictures!

Septmember 20, 2012- Ice Experiment

Today we performed an experiment with ice.  We hypothesized that our ice would melt by the time we got back from specials.  Actually the ice didn't melt all the way. Here is the video of our experiment.  Enjoy!

Also- our field trip is next Wednesday the 26th.  Mr. Jacob and Mrs. Wright (Mrs. Cox's mom) will come on the trip with us!  We are so excited!

We just had a long weekend.  We had Monday off too!  We went swimming, went to Georgia, went to a party, went to the movies, and went to Sea World!  We had a GREAT time!

This week we are going to continue to learn about fiction.  We will read amazing books, we will go to the library for the first time this week, and our brains are going to explode with new learning!!!!

Today is Wednesday and we are going to practice our dance again and today we will do even better!  We love our dance and promise to smile and sing. 
We have about 3 weeks left of school and we can't believe that we are about to go to 3rd grade!!!

Today is Monday, May 7th and we are so excited about our Dancing with the Bears event coming up!  We have been practicing each and every day and we can't wait to show off!

April 24th, 2012

This morning was a little crazy because Mrs. Cox had to give the STAAR test to a group of 4th graders! They did a great job!
Yesterday Mrs. Cox got really sick and had to go to the ER to get checked out. Now she is feeling a little better but is not all the way back to normal. Mekenzie was trying to find her cats and the other one was behind the bed.
One time Hunter had to go to the IC for migraines and seizures.
Adrian got a new xbox controller from GameStop. YAY! It is black.
One time Aurora's cat got a big cheek because a dog bit a hole in it. The cat is better now.
Alyssa's sister Sarah cut herself on her leg. Hunter got bit by a dog last week and he still has a mark on him. One time Daniel was running and he fell, then he got dizzy. His mom told him to lay down and then he got better.
Last night Adriana went to Speedy's with her older brother and sister and rode gocarts!

Today we made our letters and our snack bags for the 3rd graders who are taking the STAAR test! They were really excited to get them!
We know that they will do a great job on this test.
Mekenzie will be going to the beach this week! Tomorrow is Lesley's birthday!!!!

Yesterday Citlali packed a lot of stuff because she thinks they are moving!
Jesus went to the beach this weekend! This weekend Hunter got stung by a jelleyfish!
Aurora's sister gave her chocolate and she hugged her and said thank you for the STAAR treat!
Alyssa's new baby brother is learning how to turn over! YAY!
Isaiah has a wiggly tooth and he is going to Galveston!

The kids have been working really hard on their bird play! Pretty soon we will start making our costumes. We are also looking for birds all around us. Mrs. Sibaja put bird seed outside our window- Citlali brought it for us! THANKS CITLALI YOU ROCK!!

Today we will continue to learn about birds and their feet! yesterday we all took a reading test and we have all gotten to be much better readers! Today is Adrianna's birthday and we are so happy she is here to celebrate!

Today it is Monday and we are going to continue to learn about birds! We already know that there are different functions of beaks. We have looked at pictures, feathers, drawings, and feet. We also have drawn many birds and labeled thier parts.

Today Mr. Jacob came to our classroom and worked with some of us on bird facts! Also he gave the whole class a bird lesson! We drew beaks and feet and talked about what each type of beak and feet does. Here is a picture of Mr. Jacob doing the art lesson!

Today is Tuesday and we are being very quiet in the hallways because the big kids are taking the STARR test! We are so excited for the big kids- we know they will do a great job!! :-)

Tomorrow it will be Daniel's birthday! Today is his sister's birthday! COOL!

Today is Rayne's Birthday! She got lots of presents! This week the big kids are testing so we have to be super duper quiet while we are moving through the building! We are starting a new unit in science- we are going to learn all about birds!! :-)

This weekend Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Sibaja took their kids to the bluebonnets in Brenham Texas!

Mekenzie's cat is having babies! Jocelyn got a new chihuahua!!! Jesus lost his dog....we hope he finds him!
Daniel has 2 new chihuahuas! Citlali is moving into a house! YAY!
Rayne is leaving soon she says and her dog is having babies!
Hunter went to Dairy Queen and there was a possum in the trash can and it had babies!

We have a new student in our classroom named Yzahir! We are so happy to have him! We finished our Hero Project and we did a fantastic job for the school and our parents!! We also finished our Stanford Test and we rocked!! We are excited to learn about new things during the 4th nine weeks! We only have 50 more school days!

Today we are celebrating 3 birthdays! Kevin, Adrian, and Isaiah! We are so happy to celebrate their birthdays here at school! We had cupcakes for Adrian's birthday on Friday. They were delicious! We are so excited that our hero project is happening soon! All of the kids are collecting parts of their costume and will start bringing them tomorrow! Can't wait! Today Mrs. Cox will take pictures of the kids working on their project! Welcome back Carlos!

Today is Tuesday and yesterday we had a holiday! We are getting really excited about Easter coming soon! Will the Easter Bunny visit us? I bet he will if we follow directions and do the right thing!

Practice Test

So today we took our practice Stanford test! We did a great job but we just have to remember not to get nervous and do silly things on the test! Next week we are going to ROCK THE TEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today is Monday and we are super excited to continue our research! I can't believe how much we have learned so far!

This week we will also review 3d shapes in math, we will write by asking questions and answering them, and we will review main idea, details, compound words, verbs, nouns!

HEROES!!!

January 19th, 2012

Today in math we will review ordering numbers and use an awesome new flipchart! Today Mrs. Cox went to a training to learn all about a test that we will be taking! We have so much to learn but I know that we will do a great job!
Alyssa's dog got tied up in a rope. She was playing and tied herself up in it. But she is ok!
Aurora's cat tried to catch a mouse and then the mouse ran away.
Citlali has a rabbit names Princess but she scratches her!
One day Kevin got a dog named Baby and he was cute but he always plays with Kevin. He also has another dog and that dog is named Lucy.
Emily said that on the bus Kevin and her brother tickle each other! haha
Isaiah used to have a bunny who died, very sad.
Daniel has a puppy who is growing up and he is fat now and he also runs when he lets go of his rope.
Alejandro has a little bulldog that has a little puppy.
Hunter's parents had some sad news but we are hoping it doesn't happen! :-)
